A special taste of Afghanistan will be shared at the Aldinga Library on Friday 19 November.
Durkhanai Ayubi, author of the beautiful book Parwana, will talk about family, food and Afghanistan from 6pm to 8pm.
When their family-run restaurant Parwana opened its doors in Adelaide in 2009, Durkhanai Ayubi and her parents had a vision to share their culture with the world.
Their family memories were shared through the delights of Afghan cuisine, infused with their country’s rich historical culture and traditions of generosity and hospitality.
Next Friday night Durkhanai will tell the story behind her book, Parwana - recipes and stories from an Afghan kitchen.
Copies of the book will be available to purchase courtesy of Shakespeare's Bookshop, who will donate 25 per cent of money taken from sales to Australian Aid Organisation, Mahboba's Promise.
Tickets include a welcome glass of Afghan rose sharbat on arrival.
Wine and beer will be available to purchase courtesy of Kick Back Brewery & Taphouse.
The cost is $15 and bookings are essential, via Eventbrite.
