Fleurieu artist Avril Thomas will have her work featured on giant billboards throughout the United States.

She is one of only 20 artists from around the world chosen by Fine Art America to appear on billboards in major cities throughout the US.

Avril works from her studio at Magpie Springs, gallery, cellar door and vineyard.

Her painting Harvest Rose received more than 100 public votes to qualify as a finalist in the art competition. Judges then chose it in the top 20 winners.

The billboards are being placed in the following cities: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington DC. – right across America.

Announcing the honour on Facebook, called on travellers to keep an eye out and let her know if they spot her image.

“If you happen to be going to USA and see this painting on a billboard... DO let us know...It would be such a hoot to see a pic of it in situ!”

Avril Thomas’s work can be seen at Magpie Springs on Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 5pm.
