Fleurieu clubs to benefit from sporting grants

The Encounter Bay Football Club will receive more than $400 000 from a state government program to assist sports clubs. 

 

The grant will be used to upgrade their clubrooms, meeting rooms and accessibility to their facilities.

 

Several other Fleurieu clubs are also set to benefit, including the Willunga Recreation Centre, Aldinga Sports Park and Port Elliot Bowling Club.

 

The Strathalbyn Football club will be given $70 000 to refurbish their changerooms to meet AFL preferred facility guidelines and construct decking.

 

The Victor Harbor Football Club will get $48 500 to install new lights at the Victor Harbor Oval, which will also be the site of a new asphalt pump track with the City of Victor Harbor given $49 500 for its construction.

 

The Port Elliot Bowling Club will get $15 700 to install eight LED floodlights at its Horshoe Bay green.

 

The Aldinga Sports Park has been granted $120 000 to install 12 lighting towers as part of the venue’s Master Plan.

 

The Willunga Recreation Park will also receive $150 000 to install a new sprung wooden floor, new roof and solar panels. 

 

The Myponga Netball Club has been given $45 000 to resurface four courts and replace fencing.
