Farmers across the Fleurieu are bringing Christmas cheer to the young (and young at heart) with their festive hay bale displays.
Jolley Farms in Hindmarsh Valley (just out of Victor Harbor) are attracting a lot of social media attention with their fantastic Aussie farm Christmas scene made from square and round hay bales.
Their display (on the Victor Harbor Road) features Santa on a tractor between a towering Christmas tree made of 21 hay rolls and an enormous star and a castle.
The family said they decided to create the display after so many of the normal Christmas activities were cancelled, including the West End Brewery display in Adelaide.
They were also inspired by the number of other hay bale displays in the region.
Farmers in the area have created a huge teddy bear and a snowman from hay rolls on the Inman Valley Road at Back Valley and a hay bale tree at Back Valley Road.
There’s also a hay bale Christmas tree at Mount Compass, just north of the town on the Victor Harbor Road, complete with flashing lights.
Aussie-themed Santa displays have also been spotted at Meadows, including one of the jolly chap cooking a barbeque and another with him perched on a motorbike.
Santa's also been seen taking it easy, reclining on a fence on the Goolwa to Mount Compass Road at Middleton while wearing a COVID safe mask.
It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas on the Fleurieu.
