Budding filmmakers should get their skates on if they plan to enter the Fleurieu Film Festival, which will celebrate its eighth screening in February 2024.

The annual competitive short film festival takes place under the stars at the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre.

While entries opened in March and Earlybird entry closed at the end of August, the final closing date to enter films is Monday 4 December.

This year there is no set theme, with all genres of film submissions welcome.

The only criteria is that films must be no longer than eight minutes, including credits.

Films made in or about the Fleurieu Peninsula are eligible for the special Fleurieu in Focus prize.

Next year’s screening and awards night will be on Saturday February, with the film Fleurieu country workshop dates to be announced.
