The median price of a house in Port Elliot is now $624 500, making it the most expensive place to buy a home in regional South Australia.
A new CoreLogic report shows nine of the ten regional areas with the most expensive house prices are located on the Fleurieu.
Mt Compass is second on the list with a median house price of $556 500.
Encounter Bay is the most expensive regional place to buy a unit with a median price of $360 193.
The data is based on 2021 property sales and rental agreements.
The Best of the Best report also listed Port Elliot, Goolwa, Middleton, Hindmarsh Island and Normanville as the South Australian regions with the highest rental increases over the last 12 months.
Port Elliot saw a 27.3% increase in the median rent being charged by landlords. The median rent for the town is now $697 per week.
In comparison, the highest median rent increase in Adelaide was in Seaford where rents rose by 16.7% to $431 per week.
