Alexandrina Libraries will start a click and collect service from today, Monday 18 May with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Borrowers will be able to access their existing on hold items and place new items on hold via the online OneCard Network for collection on arrival.

To use the service they can visit the online library catalogue or call 8555 7033 for assistance.

Strathalbyn Library will also physically open to the public with limited services from Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.

This will be under strict social distancing restrictions, with no more than 10 visitors at a time to borrow or collect items from the library service and they are asked to stay for no longer than 15 minutes.

Goolwa Library will temporarily relocate to the rear of Centenary Hall, in Dawson Street and will also open from Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Only two visitors at a time will be allowed to pick up items requested through the click and collect service, with strict social distancing measures applied.

Both libraries will conduct regular environmental disinfection cleaning and will keep records of those entering the building in case of a need for future contact tracing.

There will be no public access to computers until further notice.

Other Alexandrina libraries and kiosks remain closed, as do Visitor Information Centres, although the council expects to make further announcements on its website in coming days and weeks.

Onkaparinga libraries will also reopen on a restricted basis today, with a maximum of 10 visitors and a 15-minute time limit.

The usual computer, photocopying, JP and toy library services are not yet available.

Yankalilla Library will reopen from tomorrow, Tuesday 19 May with its usual opening hours of 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday and 10 am to 1pm Saturdays.

Hand sanitiser will be provided on entry with a maximum of six visitors welcome at a time.

No programs, events or room bookings will be offered under phase one of lifting restrictions. Signage and staff instructions will ensure appropriate social distancing, with visitors asked to ring the doorbell on arrival and wait for assistance.

Victor Harbor library reopened last Wednesday.
