Fleurieu support for Advance Care Directives

Planning ahead for what may happen in later life can be difficult and it can be helpful to have support in decision making about future health care, living arrangements and other personal matters.

The City of Victor Harbor, Alexandrina Council and District Council of Yankalilla are working together with the Fleurieu Advance Care Directive Reference Group to provide this support.

They are developing a community service that will equip people with the information they need to complete their own Advance Care Directive.

An Advance Care Directive can give people peace of mind to know that their wishes are known and will be respected, if others need to make decisions for them.

The project is looking for dedicated volunteers interested in undertaking training to support people in completing their own Advance Care Directive.

More information about Advance Care Directives can be found online

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can express interest by email.

This initiative is supported by Office for Ageing Well and Health Services Programs, SA Health.
