Police have detected three drivers committing traffic offences in the Fleurieu region over the weekend.


Just after 10.30pm on Friday 16 April, police stopped and spoke to a man who was parked on the side of the Playford Highway at Kingscote with high beams on. The man was slumped over in the driver’s seat and was slurring his words.


The man was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.185. A 51-year-old man from Kangaroo Island was reported for drink driving and failing to dip headlight. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.


Police stopped a man driving about 11.10 pm on Friday on Waterport Road, Port Elliot. Checks revealed his car was unregistered and uninsured, and his licence was suspended.


The man was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.099.  A 28-year-old man from McCracken was reported for these offences and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.


Police were conducting RBT duties on Goolwa Road at Middleton about 10.30pm on Sunday when they stopped a 34-year-old man from Goolwa. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.094.


He was reported for drink driving, issued with an instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
