Fleurieu women celebratedMelanie Crawford, Yasha Button and Carolyn Jeffrey proudly display their awards at the 2020 Fleurieu Women’s Community Awards Breakfast.

More than 100 people attended the 2020 Fleurieu Women’s Community Awards Breakfast, held at eat@whalers in Encounter Bay on Friday 6 March.


Celebrating International Women’s Day, the event was hosted by the Victor Harbor VIEW club in conjunction with state MP for Finniss David Basham.


Women in Business Network founder Carolyn Jeffrey, of Victor Harbor, was named the Fleurieu’s Inspirational Business Woman for 2020.


The Community Volunteer award went to CFS volunteer Melanie Crawford of Port Elliot, while Hindmarsh Island’s Yasha Button was named Young Female Ambassador.


Mr Basham congratulated award recipients and finalists, who included Julie Sexton, Taryn Richardson, Kirsty Newell and Jessica Fairlie.


He thanked guest speaker Courtney Gum, Adelaide Crows AFLW player, for giving an inspiring insight into her life.
