Floating islands and wildlife gardening

Floating islands and local wildlife are the inspiration for two innovative gardening workshops to be held in Goolwa and Strathalbyn during June.

The Two Bushies, Angela and Paul, will run the workshops on the evenings of 7, 9, 14 and 16 June.

Floating Islands will discuss the benefits of habitat islands for farm dams, with the Two Bushies talking through the benefits of floating habitat islands on farm dams and how to make one.

The workshops will be held from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday 7 June at Strathalbyn Natural Resource Centre and Thursday 9 June at Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club.

The following week will address creating the best gardens for creatures, covering all the elements that can be added to a garden to make it the perfect home for birds, reptiles, mammals, insects, and others.

These workshops will again be held from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday 14 June at Strathalbyn Natural Resource Centre and Thursday 16 June at Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club.

The workshops are free, supported by Green Adelaide, the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board and the Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning Association.

Reserve a place by booking via Eventbrite – Floating Islands Strathalbyn; Floating Islands Goolwa; Wildlife Gardens Strathalbyn; Wildlife Gardens Goolwa.
