A new picnic-style blues roots and folk festival in McLaren Vale is fast on its way to selling out.

Folkloria will be held on Sunday 1 November at Simon Hackett Winery.

The festival features a respectable bunch of artists from the Adelaide music scene including Timberwolf, The Yearlings, AP D’Antonio, and Ollie English - who was announced just yesterday (Monday).

Patrons are encouraged to bring (low) chairs and rugs and pack a picnic, but there will also be food trucks on site.

Beverages can be purchased from the winery - empty water bottles can be packed for water refill but no liquids of any type may be brought in.

Ticket sales launched last week, and the Early Bird tickets for only $35 each were very quick to sell out. ‘Regular Bird’ tickets for $50 have also sold out, as have the children’s ticket allocation. Some ‘Late Bird’ tickets remain, at $60 each.

For those travelling from Adelaide CBD, a return bus will be available from the Gilbert Hotel on Gilbert Street at a cost of $30. Yesterday (Monday) morning, there were only 18 bus tickets remaining.

The event runs from midday until 8pm.

Timberwolf is the modern folk project and performing alias of Chris Panousakis, a blues/rock inspired singer/songwriter from Adelaide. Having had plays and appearances on Triple J, Timberwolf is quite well known in the Australian music landscape and previously performed in McLaren Vale at the 2014 Gorgeous Festival.

The Yearlings have performed their alternative country sounds at festivals across Australia and internationally since 2000, including support spots for Steve Earle, the Punch Brothers and the late Justin Townes Earle.

AP D’Antonio specialises in country, blues and folk that sounds like it comes from another era. He appeared on The Voice in 2018.

Ollie English is a two-time winner of the 'Most Popular Blues & Roots Artist' (2018 and 2019) at the SA Music Awards.

The full artist lineup is:
