Alexandrina Council and the Strath Neighbourhood Centre will offer a series of Food Matters workshops across the region, presented by The Food Embassy.


The first will be held in Port Elliot, at the Institute Hall on the Strand, on Thursday 11 February.


This Food and Country session runs from 10am to 12noon and will explore the connections between people, places and food of Indigenous Australians.


Food Freedom will run at the Strath Neighbourhood Centre, on Parker Avenue, from 6.30-8.30pm on Thursday 25 February.


Hear a farmer’s perspective on local food sustainability from special guests Heirloom Harvest and learn about caring for land for future generations.


The workshops will continue on Thursday 11 March at the Strath Neighbourhood Centre with What is Your Food Footprint? 


Learn about the best food for a healthy life and a healthy planet with a cooking demo and practical tips; it will run from 10am to 12noon.


Building a Local Food Community will be held at the Goolwa Library, in Cadell Street, on Thursday 25 March from 6.30-8.30pm.


All workshops are free but bookings are essential online or by calling 8555 7000.
