Four drivers to face court

Three drivers will appear in court after they were caught breaking the road rules on Kangaroo Island over the weekend.


About 11.10pm on Friday 30 April on Telegraph Road at Kingscote, police stopped a 25-year-old man from Kingscote for a breath test. The man recorded a positive breath test of 0.09 and was reported for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol. He also received a six-month immediate loss of licence notice and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.


About 10.45pm on Saturday 1 May on Buller Street at Kingscote, police stopped a 40-year-old woman from Kingscote for driving unlicenced. Checks conducted at the time showed that the woman's licence had expired back in 2008 and she had already received multiple fines in relation to driving unlicenced. She was reported for driving unlicenced and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. The owner of the vehicle was also fined for cause and permit an unlicenced driver to drive their motor vehicle.


About 12.30pm on Sunday 2 May on Kangaroo Island near Nepean Bay, police stopped a 54-year-old man from Victoria driving on Hog Bay Road. He underwent a breath test and recorded a positive reading of 0.213. He was reported for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, he received a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
