Kidsafe SA will visit Strathalbyn to provide free child car restraint fitting and checks to local families on Monday 14 August. 

Transport accidents are the number one cause of injury-related deaths in children aged up to 14 years. 

Child car restraints reduce the risk of injury in a crash; however, the best crash protection is provided when the restraint suits the age and size of the wearer, and when the restraint is installed and used correctly. 

Kidsafe data collection has consistently found that 70-80 per cent of children are not correctly restrained while traveling in the car. 

Its fitting service specialises in fitting a range of child car seats, baby carriers / capsules and booster seats for the safe transportation of children. 

The expert team can also provide advice on the best child car restraint for individual children.

Charitable foundation Cops for Kids have partnered with Kidsafe SA to ensure more families have access to a child restraint fitting service 

The free car seat fittings will be held at Strathalbyn Neighbourhood Centre from 9am to 5pm. Bookings essential, via the Kidsafe website.
