Cat owners across the region can mark their calendars for a special event that promises to keep feline friends safe and traceable.
Following the success of its previous microchipping day for both cats and dogs in June, the Alexandrina Council will host another free microchipping day on 10 August. This time, the event is exclusively for cats.
This initiative, taking place at the Goolwa Council Chambers on 11 Cadell Street, is open to all cat owners, not just those livng in the Alexandrina area. Even cats from different council areas are welcome. However, this offer is not available to breeders or rescue organisations.
Event Details:
Microchipping became mandatory in South Australia on 1 July 2018, significantly increasing the chances of lost pets being reunited with their owners. This event is an opportunity for cat owners to comply with this regulation at no cost.
The council also reminds all pet owners that dog and cat registration renewals are now due. To renew pet registrations, visit Dogs and Cats Online.
