Alexandrina Council residents can book an appointment to get their dogs or cats microchipped for free on Saturday 1 June at the Goolwa Council Chambers.
For those living outside the Alexandrina Council area there will be a fee of $10 – the Chipblitz rate.
Microchipping became mandatory in South Australia on 1 July 2018 and a microchipped pet has a better chance of getting home quickly and safely when they go astray.
At the microchipping session dogs must be on leads and cats must be in secure and closed carry cages.
Appointments are available between 10am and 4pm; book in online.
