Crows fans on the Fleurieu will be able to get a free train ride from Seaford to the St Kilda game at Adelaide Oval on Monday 20 July.
All footy fans are set to benefit from the state government’s reintroduction of the footy express for the rest of the AFL season.
Full bus, train and tram services will be provided even with restricted crowd numbers of up to 25,000 people at Adelaide Oval to increase capacity and assist with physical distancing efforts.
To further ease the pressure on the public transport system and provide more capacity to allow for better physical distancing, the state government has worked with the Adelaide City Council to provide reduced car parking fees for those attending footy games at Adelaide Oval.
“We know many South Australians are looking forward to being back at Adelaide Oval and we want to help them get to and from the game safely and for free", says Stephan Knoll, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government.
“With crowds of up to 25,000 we know that footy at Adelaide Oval will be a spectacle and the atmosphere will be electric.
“We’re also asking footy fans to please be patient as they wait for their transport to and from Adelaide Oval and to be mindful to physically distance as much as possible.”
Every effort will be made to provide additional capacity on bus, train and tram services and customers will need to exercise judgement as to how they travel and act in accordance with health advice; practice sound hygiene measures, cough into tissues or the crook of your arm and use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser and wash your hands.
If you are feeling ill, please avoid travel on public transport at all times.
