Alexandrina Council will hold a drop-in information session as part of its community consultation on the draft Goolwa Oval master plan.

It will be held from 5pm to 6.30pm on Thursday 19 September at the oval, on Goyder Street in Goolwa.

All are welcome to view the draft master plan and talk to council staff about the proposed redevelopment.

Among features of the draft plan are: 

• A new multi-purpose community sporting facility with unisex changerooms, social spaces and player and spectator amenities
• four new tennis and netball courts
• a new cricket practice facility
• new lighting for the sports fields, courts and surrounds.

Council says the redevelopment of this important community hub is about maximising the opportunities for site users and for the broader community to enjoy well-planned, high quality and compliant sport and recreation infrastructure.

They are seeking community input and feedback before finalising the plan and pursuing external funding.

Consultation will be open until 3 October and a report containing all submissions on the plan will be presented to the council meeting on Monday 21 October.
