The Governor General of Australia His Excellency David Hurley and Mrs Hurley will visit Kangaroo Island this Sunday 28 April.
They last visited in February 2022 to turn the sod for the Stokes Bay Community Hall, in support of the island community after the devastating fires of 2019-2020.
KI Council says the Vice-Regal couple had planned to visit again earlier but were delayed by COVID.
“The revitalisation and rebuilding of the Kangaroo Island community has been of particular interest to the Governor General and Mrs Hurley.
“They are delighted to be returning to rekindle their connection to Island residents and see the revitalisation of the Stokes Bay community and Stokes Bay Hall.”
The community is invited to Stokes Bay Hall at 2.30pm for an informal meet and greet with the Official party as they tour the Stokes Bay Community Hall Facility.
