Give the gift of reading to Fleurieu kids

In the lead up to Christmas Victor Harbor Library will again collect donations of new children’s books from the local community.

Books can be fiction or non-fiction and will be for children aged between 0-18 years.

Fleurieu Families and Grandcarers SA will distribute donations to families across the Fleurieu just in time for Christmas.

Last year a generous community donated 200 books to families in need and the library is hoping to at least match that effort this year.

New, unwrapped book donations can be dropped at the Victor Harbor library on Bay Road from next week, Monday 4 November until 5pm, Friday 29 November.

Grandcarers SA is a voluntary not for profit organisation providing community support and advocacy for grandparents and other kinship carers to improve the welfare of children.

Fleurieu Families is a partnership between the City of Victor Harbor, the District Council of Yankalilla, the federal government Department for Social services and the state government Department for Human Services.

It supports families through an outreach parenting support program, groupwork and parent education programs.
