Alexandrina Council will start repairs on the Goolwa Beach pedestrian access ramp today, Monday 15 January.
The ramp has been closed since 23 November, when heavy rain caused the sand beneath it to collapse.
Repair works will include installation of a new stormwater system to eliminate water pooling on and next to the promenade.
Southeast access to the beach and the front row of car parking may be restricted while council contractors complete the work, which is expected to be done by the end of Friday 19 January.
Access to the beach at the southwest corner will remain open to the public.
The council is also working on a new design for a fully accessible ramp that will end on the flat level surface of the beach.
Details of the project can be viewed on the Alexandrina Council website.
The pedestrian ramp was part of the $2 million Goolwa Beach Car Park upgrade, completed in September 2023.
