Second Semi-Final (2.30pm Saturday 7 September @ Port Noarlunga)

Noarlunga puts their undefeated season on the line when they face off against reigning premier Flagstaff Hill for the right to be the first team into the Southern Football League Grand Final. Noarlunga have been untouchable so far this season with an average winning margin of 96 points. This is a rematch of last season’s second semi-final where Flaggies prevailed before Noarlunga suffered a shock loss to Reynella in the Preliminary Final. Flagstaff Hill has only lost two games this season, both to Noarlunga by 52 & 62 points. The Shoes have so many scoring options with six players kicking more than 25 goals with Nick Mott leading the way with 58 goals. The Falcons have been in great recent form winning seven games on the trot and they will rely heavily on their defence which has only conceded 45 points per game. First Semi-Final (2.30pm Sunday 8 September @ Christies Beach)

Christies Beach will look to bounce back from a disappointing 60-point loss in the Qualifying Final to Flagstaff Hill as they take on a confident Port Noarlunga outfit, fresh from a comprehensive 41-point win in the Elimination Final win over Reynella. Christies Beach won both clashes between the two teams in the minor round but they were tight games with margins of 17 and 10 points. Port Noarlunga will need to keep the league leading goalkicker Blake Carter in check as Flagstaff Hill did last week. Carter has kicked 12 goals in the two clashes between the two sides this season. Port Noarlunga has shared their goals around with four players kicking 20 goals or more this season including Jake Veide (23 goals) who has had a great season and will need to play well for the Cockle Divers to get up. It’s a tight one to try and pick a winner in but maybe Christies Beach having the home ground advantage will see them over the line. My tip...Christies Beach by five points.
