Grants offered to sport and recreation groups

The City of Victor Harbor is offering grants of up to $20,000 to sport and recreation groups.

Sport or recreation clubs that are in need of an infrastructure or facility upgrade can apply for financial support through the council's new grants program.

The council has significantly expanded its Sport and Recreation Grants Program to include a new funding stream that will support infrastructure projects.

The new major grants funding stream has a total pool of $100,000, with a maximum amount of $20,000 to be allocated towards each application.

The program also retains its minor grants stream that has total funding pool of $10,000, with a maximum of $400 allocated to individuals and $1,000 to clubs and organisations.

The council says that as well as providing local groups with an opportunity to enhance the access or quality of their facilities the new grant process will also improve transparency, clarity, consistency and equity in how it manages requests for funding.

More information about the new Sport and Recreation Grants Program and application guidelines are available on the council website. www.victor.sa.gov.au/grants

The City of Victor Harbor strongly encourages organisations and clubs who plan to apply for a grant to ensure the best possible chances of success by contacting it for advice before submitting on 8551 0500 or via email.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 17 February 2023.
