Community consultation has begun on the concept plan for Stage 5 of the Victor Harbor Mainstreet Upgrade, which includes Grosvenor Gardens and the western section of Coral Street

Council staff will be at the Victor Harbor Farmers’ Market  in Grosvenor Gardens on Saturday, 15 May from 8.30am to 12pm to provide information on the plan.

Drop-in and share your ideas about the proposed changes to Grosvenor Gardens and the western section of Coral Street.

Stage five seeks to implement streetscape improvements such as greening, pedestrian accessibility and safety, lighting, and general amenity improvements. 

It  also provides an opportunity to explore and identify how Grosvenor Gardens can be better utilised by the local community for day-to-day usage and for small community events.

The City of Victor Harbor is seeking community feedback on the plan, based on the Victor Harbor Mainstreet Precinct Master Plan.

The Mainstreet Precinct Upgrade aims to see the heart of Victor Harbor’s Town Centre transformed into a vibrant public space that celebrates the town’s character,

encourages more activity and improves links with other areas of the town centre.

Stage One of the upgrade - the intersection of Ocean and Coral streets - was completed in 2016. 

Stage Two, extending from the northern entrance to Ocean Street to the end of Stage One, was completed in 2019.

Stage Three - the eastern side of Coral Street to the foreshore - was completed in 2020.

Construction for Stage Four of the upgrade, at the southern end of Ocean Street, is expected to begin in Autumn 2022, subject to grant funding support.

The concept plan is available online, as well as a survey. Both can be accessed in hard copy at the Civic Centre  at 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.

The community consultation will close at 5pm on Monday 7 June 2021.
