A low-cost workshop on growing local native plants from scratch will be held at EcoClassroom Sanctuary at Tatachilla Lutheran College on Sunday 10 September.
Experts from Wollemi Natives, Biodiversity McLaren Vale, and the EcoClassroom Sanctuary will guide the process, exploring where to source seeds and cuttings and where and when to plant natives.
The EcoClassroom Sanctuary at Tatachilla Lutheran College is a revegetated site, modelled on natural ecosystems that once existed in the McLaren Vale region.
It is home to endangered native fauna, as well as lizards, frogs and birds.
Bettongs and potoroos will come out for their dusk feeding after the late afternoon workshop, from 3pm to 5.30pm, which is suitable for adults and families.
The ticket price of $7.50 includes pots of seeds and cuttings to take home, ready to grow. Book via Humanitix.
Contact Dani Austin or Hannah Sharp for more details.
This workshop is run in partnership with Wollemi Natives, Biodiversity McLaren Vale, and the EcoClassroom Sanctuary at Tatachilla Lutheran College.
The project is supported by the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants Program, and is funded by the landscape levy.
