While the weather is still warm it’s a great time to prepare for winter planting and growing.

Get a head start on the season and learn all that you need to know to grow winter vegetables from seed, at the Wirra Creek Community Garden, in Willunga, on Saturday 4 March.

Workshop leader Amanda will talk about which vegetables grow well in the local climate over the winter and how to grow them from scratch.

She will also cover how to prepare veggie beds and plant out seedlings and how to manage pests in the vegetable garden without using chemicals.

Participants are asked to take along a mask and gloves for seed planting activity.

This event will run from 10am to 11am and is organised by Sustainable Onkaparinga and Willunga Environment Centre.

Tickets cost $10 and include a seed pot to take away to grow at home; book via Eventbrite.
