If you hear gunshots in Second Valley forest over the next few days, don’t be alarmed.

Woodside Barracks will hold a training exercise there from Sunday 22 September to Friday 27 September.

According to the District Council of Yankalilla, which has been alerting residents via its social media and website, the leadership training exercise will involve about 75 personnel from the 16th Air Land Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, based at Woodside Barracks.

Blank firing will be involved, which will be at random times and will last no more than 20 minutes in duration per serial. There will be more than three serials and these will be conducted no later than 9pm and not before 6am each day.

The training will be held in Second Valley forest, north and south of Range Road.

Local police have been advised.
