Normanville’s Jetty Caravan Park is expecting delivery of 23 new cabins over the next few months, which will require local trees to be trimmed.

The District Council of Yankalilla has started the trimming to provide a clearance envelope across the full width of the road and allow for the safe passage of legal height vehicles.

The operation is in accordance with DIT Operational Instructions and the council’s Infrastructure Asset Management Plan for Transport.

The council has assured the community that no Morten Bay Fig Trees are being removed as a part of these works.

It says the trimming will also mitigate the risk of future damage to the Morton Bay figs and taller vehicles that use Jetty Road.

A commemorative sign was installed in Robert Norman Park, on Jetty Road, during History Month last year, which includes some interesting history on the trees around this area.
