Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority will host its popular half-price green organics disposal days in the second week of October.

It is the ideal time to prepare properties for bushfire season and spring clean the garden.

There will be four available dates for the half price service at the Goolwa Depot at 1226 Port Elliot Road.

They are Saturday 7 and 14 October and Sunday 8 and 15 October, all from 9am to 3pm.

Both Strathalbyn Depot, on Forrest Road, and Yankalilla Depot, at 2864 Inman Valley Road will take green waste for half price on Sunday 8 and 15 October.

Strathalbyn Depot will be open from 9am to 4pm, while Yankalilla will be open from 12noon to 4pm.

Whether thumbs are green or black, the fine weather offers the opportunity to get outside and fill the trailer before the fire season starts.
