Have a say on speed limit changes

The City of Onkaparinga is consulting the community about proposed speed limit changes on Sand Road and Glory Road in Kangarilla to improve road safety.

The setting of speed limits falls under the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT).

The council has applied to DIT to reduce the speed limits has received in principle agreement; the next stage of the process get community feedback on the proposed changes.

The council says concerns have been raised for several years about speeding along both roads.

In 2021 it collected data and found the average speed along Sand Road was very close to 60km/hr.

The proposed speed limit reduction to the default urban speed limit of 50km/hr on Glory Road between McLaren Flat Road and 120 metres south of Spring Avenue is due to a new residential development on Spring Avenue.

Full details of the proposed speed reductions, including location maps, can be found online.

Consultation closes on Tuesday 28 February.
