Have a say on the future of food production

The State Planning Commission has released a report as part of its first statutory review of South Australia's Environment and Food Production Areas (EFPA).

It has begun eight weeks of public consultation, running until 30 July, which includes public information sessions in Strathalbyn and Victor Harbor.

The report confirms that there is sufficient land supply in Greater Adelaide to support housing and employment growth over the next 15 years.

South Australians have been invited to make submissions to vary the EFPA boundaries where anomalies are identified.

As part of Stage 2 of the EFPA review, a series of community information sessions will be held to help stakeholders and the community to learn more about the review and how it is relevant to them.

Following the public consultation process, stage 2 will include a public hearing later in the year.

On completion, the Commission will consider the submissions and deliver its findings report to the Minister for Planning and Local Government, outlining the review outcomes.

Fleurieu information sessions will be held at Victor Harbor Council Chambers on Tuesday 22 June from 4-6pm and Strathalbyn Community Centre on Monday 28 June from 4-6pm.

There will also be sessions held in Stirling, Murray Bridge, Mallala and Kapunda.

Register for one or more of the information sessions via Eventbrite. Note that COVID-safe event guidelines apply to all information sessions and you must take along a digital or physical copy of your ticket.
