The City of Onkaparinga is consulting the community about proposed pop-up commercial activation site in the Willunga Town Square.
The council has described activations as temporary, short-term commercial activities run over multiple days or a period of time.
It says they contribute to placemaking and place management, spur new and creative ways to stimulate the local economy, and attract visitation.
“They showcase local offerings, promote our city as a vibrant destination, connect people and places, build local business capacity, capabilities and collaboration, create seasonal jobs plus so much more.”
The council plans to expand its annual Foreshore and Coastal Activation program ‘Onkaparinga Summer’ to a year-round program.
This would include evening and winter activities, as well as the summer program that runs from 1 December to 28 February.
It has identified the Willunga Town Square as a great location for new pop-up activities that could include summer; winter villages and after dark sessions; adventure; and lifestyle and culture.
The community can have a say via the City of Onkaparinga Your Say page.
Consultation is open until 5pm on Monday 19 September.
