Hawks fly into finals action in the Southern Football League Women's competition

Hackham qualified for finals with a 28-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens during round 16 action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Ironbank yesterday. After trailing by five points at quarter time, Hackham kicked five unanswered goals to win 6.8 (44) to 2.4 (16). Dakota Dwyer kicked three goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Hawks and she was well supported by Charlotte Carter, Mia Burdon, Tallara Power, Shayley MacFadyen and Alana Browne. Best players for Ironbank Cherry Gardens included Olivia Walker-Obushak, Audrey Myers, Teagan Del Torre-Darrington, Jessie O’Brien, Estelle McPhee and Katherine Davey.


Flagstaff Hill warmed up for finals with a comfortable 53-point win against Cove yesterday. The Falcons won every quarter on their way to a 10.12 (72) to 3.1 (19) victory. Jessica Couch kicked five goals for Flagstaff Hill, giving her 35 for the season to win the SFLW goalkicking. Best players for ‘Flaggies’ included Tiana Lush, Amber Cloughessy, Melanie Koster, Couch, Chloe Meyers and Kelsey Rodman. Best for the Cobras were Angelique Dean, Naomi Jones, Hayley Donnell, Iona Parr, Ashleigh Need and Dana O'Brien.


Reynella finished minor premiers after they received a forfeit win against Noarlunga in the final round and will have week one of the finals off.
