Wirrina Cove will host South Australia’s inaugural Heavy Horse Festival next weekend, Saturday and Sunday 28 and 28 May.
Many heavy breeds will be on show, including Clydesdales, Gypsy Cobs, Shire and Friesian horses, from around Australia.
There will be working horse demonstrations and blacksmith demonstrations, as well as dressage and cross country riding.
A horse drawn vehicle display will feature a gypsy wagon never before seen in SA.
The event runs from 9am to 4pm both days at the Wirrina Holiday Park oval, with some camping available; book online.
Entry is free for spectators and dogs are welcome if they are kept on-leash. Food trucks will be on-site, as well as a trade village.
