Yankalilla residents have been urged to contact Primary Industry SA (PIRSA) if they have any information about a helicopter spraying over the region.

The council has received numerous phone calls this morning, Friday 2 June, from residents concerned about a helicopter flying low to the ground.

It was reported to be spraying an unknown liquid across an area adjoining the Yankalilla Township.

The council has asked any residents with information on the actual location of the spraying, or identification of the helicopter to contact PIRSA’s Rural Chemicals Hotline on 1300 799 684.

PIRSA has jurisdiction over spray drift and will follow up the issue with the operator, if they can be determined, on behalf of the community.
