Lack of public transport and inadequate road maintenance have long been issues across the Fleurieu Peninsula and on Kangaroo Island.

Anyone with concerns or ideas on local transport priorities can have input into the state government’s planned transport strategy.

The strategy aims to guide transport delivery across South Australia over the next 30 years.

It will shape how people and goods move around the state, aiming to create a network that supports daily life, whether that’s ensuring smooth food deliveries, easier commutes, or safer travel for family holidays. 

Regional Development Australia has shared insights via a consultation workshop, drawing on its previous work to establish the public transport and freight needs of the region. 

It is now encouraging individuals to share their thoughts to make sure the transport needs of the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island are heard.
