The Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TICSA) has partnered with marketing consultants Purple Giraffe to provide an inclusive employment program on the Fleurieu.

It will support small and medium Fleurieu tourism businesses with a free program to recruit, retain and promote employees with disability.

In general, people who identify as having a disability find it harder to access suitable employment environments. 

This can include many different types of disabilities such as intellectual, physical, sensory, and mental illness. 

TICSA and Purple Giraffe have identified that employees with a disability:

• take less sick leave and stay in jobs for longer than other workers.
• have fewer compensation incidents and accidents at work compared to other workers.
• build strong relationships with customers.
• boost workplace morale and enhance teamwork.
