It’s almost a year away but City of Victor Harbor is calling for community input into planning for next year’s Winter Whalefest.
The annual family-friendly festival spans the month of June to celebrate whales migrating to the south coast from late May to October..
The 2025 events, activities and workshops were inspired by Kondoli, the whale from Ngarrindjeri Dreaming.
They highlighted Victor Harbor’s coastline, culture, science, and creativity with more than 25 events featuring art, film, live music, cultural experiences, tours and science talks.
A special feature was whale-inspired lantern workshops culminating in the Kondoli Lantern Parade, which unfortunately had to be moved indoors at the last minute due to hazardous weather.
The council has created a survey for anyone who took part in the festival to give feedback on how it went and what could make it better. Find it online.
