The community of Hindmarsh Valley is calling out for help from friends and neighbours to ensure its heart continues to beat strongly.
Two historic buildings on Hindmarsh Tiers Road, the Memorial Hall and the Old School, have been assets to the hamlet for almost 160 years.
They have been places for the community to gather and celebrate, creating communal memories and good times.
They host weddings, parties, anything – from community meetings to vibrant cultural events.
Owned by the community and managed by the local Progress Association, in recent times COVID, a catastrophic flood and major roadworks have posed significant challenges.
Now they need help and support to keep things running and set up these community hubs for future generations.
Volunteers are needed to help with maintenance, lend a hand at events or assist with administration. Anyone with a few hours to spare could help to make difference.
Donations of money or services or equipment that could benefit the halls and contribute to their upkeep and improvement would also be gratefully received.
