Alexandrina Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from people interested joining its Heritage Advisory Committee.

Anyone with an interest in heritage matters who has relevant skills to contribute to the Advisory Committee to the council is encouraged to apply.

The committee plays an active role in organising the annual Heritage Awards, held in May, as well as a series of Heritage Talks in autumn and spring each year.

The Members’ vision for heritage in Alexandrina is that it is a living thing that encompasses not only buildings, but places such as mine sites and monuments. 

Heritage also includes cultural artefacts, and geological and archaeological sites.  

It encompasses natural, built and social heritage and indigenous heritage, and includes area, precincts, people, places, landscapes and streetscapes.

The terms of reference for the committee are available on the Alexandrina Council website.

Prospective members should read them and then complete an Expression of Interest form. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5pm on Friday 3 February.
