A high range drink driver was caught at Strathalbyn over the weekend.
About 9.40pm Sunday 17 October police stopped a car travelling along Ashbourne Road and submitted the driver to a breath test.
The driver a 58-year-old local woman allegedly returned a positive result of 0.204 – over four times the limit!
The woman was reported for drink driving and her car was impounded. She received an immediate 12 month loss of licence. She will appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court at a later date.
The officer in Charge of Hills Fleurieu Police, Acting Superintendent Michael Sampson, says: “local drivers need a reality check with two in three deaths on country roads being country people.
"This is another example of the appalling risks some country drivers are willing to take on our roads, and it needs to stop."
