The finest cricketers across the Fleurieu region will gather for the annual Harry Meyer Shield to be played between Saturday January 23 and Tuesday 26 January. The Meyer Shield is played between the six associations under the Fleurieu & Districts Cricket banner and has been played since 1964/65. This season the carnival will be hosted by the Hills Cricket Association (HCA) who are aiming for a fourth straight title. The last team to win four on the trot was the now defunct Southern Cricket Association who achieved the feat between 1997/98 and 2000/01. Great Southern Cricket Association (GSCA), Murray Towns Cricket Association (MTCA), Kangaroo Island Cricket Association (KICA), Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association (AEHCA) and Torrens Valley Cricket Association (TVCA) are the other competing associations. Games will be played at Meadows, Kangarilla and Flagstaff Hill.
Murraylands Football and Netball Sporting Results (MF&NSR) will be live streaming the Meyer Shield this season. The MF&NSR team will cover most associations over the weekend, with the emphasis on broadcasting the match of the day for rounds one and two and then the final on Tuesday January 26.
