Friends of Hindmarsh River Estuary will celebrate their success and achievements over the past two years on Thursday 4 May.
It has invited the community to the launch of its Citizen Science Bird Survey program at Cootamundra Reserve McCracken from 9.30am to 1pm.
The program has installed signs at eight locations along the Hindmarsh River to help gather information that will help to monitor and inform some of the groups’ activities.
Everyone will be encouraged to download the Birdlife Aust. Survey app and undertake bird surveys at the eight locations.
The launch offers a great chance to connect with the local community and see how volunteers are helping to increase biodiversity in the region.
More than fifteen community groups and stall holders will attend and a free barbecue lunch is on offer, as well as an opportunity to tour the billabong and walking trails.
Local native plants will be available for sale and all are welcome to the family-friendly event.
