Local history buffs have access to another resource to shed light on the mid-twentieth century.

The District Council of Yankalilla has recently retrieved from archives the council minutes from the 1940s and 1950s.  

The council says it is fascinating to see the types of items discussed 70 and 80 years ago, including items that are still current and relevant today.

Some things were very different however, such as getting legal advice on whether the Town Clerk could stay in the boardroom until his residence became available.

These minutes have now been scanned and made available on the council website for all to read.
