Freeman's Knob Lookout. Image courtesy Alexandrina Council.Alexandrina Council will begin repairs to the seating at Freeman's Knob Lookout, in Port Elliot, starting in early November.
The works will involve repairs, rendering and painting of the walls and seating.
The council has removed the Corten steel artwork in the centre of the seating area, which it says is over 20 years old with sections that have rusted.
It will be replicated and reinstated when the wall repairs are complete.
A local supplier involved in the creation of the original artwork in 2001 has been contracted by the council to restore the structure.
The lookout will be partially closed during works with temporary fencing and signs will be in place to assist pedestrian traffic movements.
Weather permitting, the works are expected to be completed by late December.
