Port Elliot's Horseshoe Bay Reserve has been refreshed and renovated, with a new playground and better facilities.
The site fencing was taken down today in time for the better weather on the final weekend of November.
The reserve now has a new pathway, beach shelters and a smart bench with USB charging facilities.
There is also a beach platform with shower facilities, new playground equipment, green grass turf, irrigation, and solar lighting.
Alexandrina Council began the renewal work in September following community consultation on what was needed in the area.
The playground, near the Flying Fish Café, has been designed for younger children and includes a coastal hardy play structure, slides, carousel, rope climber and spring rocker.
The council plans further work next year to add a new paved pathway from behind the Flying Fish Café to the Port Elliot Surf Club, extending to the jetty.
