A house at Sellicks Beach was destroyed by fire this afternoon, Friday 24 February.

At around 2.20pm, seven CFS fire trucks, supported by SAPOL and the SA Ambulance Service attended a call to a Monaco Boulevard where the roof of a house was fully alight.

The house is believed to have been totally lost, with damage estimated at $250,000.

Nearby homes were threatened but the CFS managed to prevent the fire from spreading.

SA Ambulance treated the home owner for smoke inhalation at the scene and he recovered quickly.

Fire investigators have attended the scene.
