Shortly after 8pm on Thursday 9 January, CFS firefighters were called to a house fire in Aldinga Beach.

Twenty firefighters on five trucks responded to the house fire, working alongside SA Police, SA Power Networks, and SA Ambulance Service. Fortunately, no occupants were home at the time.

The fire destroyed the house and a car on the property. However, volunteer firefighters' quick response and defensive tactics stopped the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties, preventing further damage.

Crews will remain on site for some time to ensure any remaining smouldering areas are fully extinguished.

The fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damages, and Fire Investigators have been called to the scene.
