Six CFS crews with approximately 30 firefighters attended a single story house fire on Queen Street in Strathalbyn in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 15 May.

The house was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene.

Crews continued working to contain the blaze and protect neighbouring properties into the early hours of this morning.

One occupant was in the house when the fire started and has been taken to hospital.

The fire cause is currently unknown but is thought to be accidental and Fire Investigators have been notified.

The cost of damage has been estimated at $300,000.
